How the dietitian consultations work

1 Initial assessment

In our initial session, our focus is on uncovering the lifestyle factors affecting your well-being. By delving into the core of your challenges, we lay the groundwork for crafting personalized nutrition and lifestyle remedies that yield enduring outcomes.

2 Meal plan & strategy

Time to establish goals, devise monitoring tactics, and refine self-nourishment.

Learn meal choices, timing, food selection, combinations, and recipe tweaks. Your path to empowered nourishing begins.

3 Education & evaluation

Time to analyze your progress and outcomes. Blood tests and charts are needed. You'll also keep receiving guidance and education to overcome obstacles and continue growing.

  • What is difference between a dietician and a nutritionist?

    I have written a blog article on this topic. 

    An Accredited Practising Dietitian (which is what I am) undergoes 5 yrs of university training specialising in all things nutrition and chronic disease management.

    A nutritionist is a professional specialising in studying nutrition and the relationship between diet and health. They can help people develop healthy eating habits and manage various health conditions through diet.

  • Is dietician covered by Medicare?

    The costs for seeing a dietitian vary. 

    All dietitians will have their own fee schedule for a consultation. If your doctor refers you a dietitian, Medicare may cover some of the cost.

  • Should I see a dietitian or nutritionist to lose weight?

    So if you're looking to lose weight, or have tried many times  to lose weight and nothing works for the long term - Having a dietitian experienced in weight loss is a great way to manage your barriers to success and stick to your weight loss goals.

  • Do dietitians give you meal plans?

    Many dietitians  will develop customised nutrition plans for each client. Dietitians not only create meal plans for their clients, but they also provide education and knowledge on how to make appropriate food choices in any situation so that you can stick to your nutritional or health goals.

  • What foods do dietitians recommend?

    Every single person will have a diiferent food  list or meal plan depending on their health goals and food sensitivities - BUT there will always be similar suggestions for most clients such as avoiding sugar, avoind processed foods, avoiding wheat and gluten. To increase water intake and stick to whole foods.

  • Do dietitians do home visits?

    In some situations dietitians linked in with hospitals can do health visits. Ay my practice I do have the option of face to face visits at my practice or online sessions via Zoom.
