What a Menopause Dietitian Can Help With

Perimenopause Transition

Hormone fluctuations from declining oestrogen can lead to symptoms of hot flashes, mood changes & night sweats.

Menopause Weight Gain

Hormonal shifts can slow your metabolism and increase fat storage, particularly around the abdomen.

Bone & Heart Health

Bones become weaker, increasing your risk of osteoporosis & heart health reduces, risking heard disease.

Hormone Balancing

The right diet can help balance hormones to improve symptoms & long-term health outcomes.

How I Help You Lose Weight, Balance Hormones, and Feel Like Yourself Again

Nutrition plays a central role in your hormonal health. As oestrogen drops, your metabolism, insulin sensitivity, bone density and mood are all affected.

  • Lose weight without fad diets or over-exercising
  • Balance hormones with real food
  • Improve sleep, mood, libido, skin and energy
  • Future-proof your body against disease

What my menopause weight loss clients feel

I had a very positive experience seeing Anca. I learnt a great deal about my body and mind through a number of methods. My gut health improved greatly, and my attitude towards eating changed. I use her relaxation methods to help me sleep and take time for me when stress starts to increase. Not a day goes by that I don't think about what Anca taught me. Her knowledge and wisdom astounds me. Thank you.

Lisa

From day ONE Anca amazed me with her knowledge, passion and genuine care to help me reach my goals. This incredibly intelligent woman provides more than just a meal plan. She has provided me with education, counselling, referrals to top quality professionals, high quality supplements and products, a shoulder to cry on and the bare truth when I needed to hear it. She has shown me just how important nutrition is for every aspect of my well being and how resilient the human body can be once equipped with the right tools. If you are scrolling through reviews looking to make not only a change, but the right changes, Anca is the person you are looking for.

Lacey

Anca’s approach to health is very holistic. From our first consultation I felt supported and comforted by her knowledge, care and warm approach. Anca has helped me to balance my hormones and I was able to get desired weight loss within 4 months. Anca leaves no stone unturned. From Breathing to Exercise , Sleep and Food, every little thing was addressed during appointments and options were given which was practical in my life style . I also had a biofield tuning session with Anca ,which has helped me to release blockages and stress from my body and I feel in a better place now physically and mentally. I would highly recommend working with Anca to anyone who seeks to improve their health.

Menopause & Perimenopause Nutritionist Melbourne | Weight Loss, Hormone Support, and Whole-Body Healing

  • How can a dietitian help me lose weight during menopause?

Dietitians are better as they undergo 5 years of specialised university training to become accredited practicing dietitians. Whilst at university, dietitians train and specialise in all things nutrition and chronic disease management.

A nutritionist is a professional specialising in the study nutrition and the relationship between diet and health. They can help people develop healthy eating habits and manage various health conditions through diet, however they are limited in their ability to help with disease management like a dietitian can.

Read more about the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist.

  • Can dietary changes relieve menopause symptoms?

Many dietitians will develop customised nutrition and meal plans for each client.

Dietitians not only create meal plans for their clients, but they also provide education and knowledge on how to make appropriate food choices in any situation so that you can stick to your nutritional or health goals.

Meal plans can also be developed to combat autoimmune and gut health issues.

  • Which foods should I focus on during menopause?

Every single person will have a different food list or meal plan depending on their health goals and food sensitivities - BUT there will always be similar suggestions for most clients such as avoiding sugar, processed foods, wheat and gluten, to increase water intake and stick to whole foods.

When recommending food types and creating meal plans, it's important that your dietitian creates this personalised to you and your dietary requirements.

  • Why am I gaining weight around my belly during menopause?

You can easily book online through my website www.ancavereen.com or contact me directly. I offer in-person consultations in Melbourne as well as online appointments Australia-wide.

  • How quickly can I expect to see results with dietary changes?

Through a GP appointment you are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $58 for your first 5 sessions .

  • Can you help me manage emotional eating during menopause?

Yes. As a dietitian and somatic psychotherapist, I address both nutritional and emotional aspects of eating. Strategies include mindful eating techniques, emotional regulation skills, and therapeutic support tailored specifically to menopause-related emotional changes.

  • What happens during our initial consultation?

Our initial consultation involves an in-depth assessment of your medical history, dietary habits, lifestyle, symptoms, and specific menopause-related challenges. You’ll leave with a personalised action plan to start addressing your concerns immediately.
